Hi Ash class!

I hope you all had wonderful half terms.

Please keep checking back on this page to see activities that you can do at home.

At the beginning of each week that you are at home there will be a Learning Project link put towards the bottom of this page. If you click on this link there will be a number of maths, writing, reading and topic/project activities for you to complete. I will also be putting other activities up for you to have a go at. It will really help your parents/carers out if you could try and do something from this each day, and I'm sure they would love to see your learning too. As well as trying to do a piece of writing, reading, maths and topic/project learning each day, it is also important that you get some fresh air. Enjoy!

Parents, if you have any questions about anything, no matter how big or small, please do not hesitate to contact me. Children, I would love to see what you have been up to, so if you would like to show me ask your adults at home to help you send me an email!

I am contactable via the following email:

Remember, enjoy your time with your families, have fun and most importantly stay safe!

Keep up the hard work

Mr Hunt

In your children's yellow reading records are individual logins for Ed Shed and Numbots. If you lose your children's logins or passwords please let me know and I can send those over to you. There are also various educational platforms that are free for you to use (Phonics Play, Twinkl, Classroom Secrets etc). I thoroughly recommend using Phonics Play (your child is familiar with this) to consolidate your child's phonics knowledge. Thanks for your co-operation and support at this challenging time.

Below are the links for some of the sites.

These activities follow the same scheme which we use at school, so your child should hopefully be familiar with the way it is set up. There will be a learning video to watch and then some activities to follow for each day. Have fun, and remember to let me know how you get on!

Tuesday 7th July 2020 - Find a half

For lots of exciting and useful (and free!) maths resources/activities that you could do at home, you may want to ask your parents if they could sign you up for The Maths Factor. Once you follow the link, click on the big green button to sign up.

To access free, online reading books at home (there are loads!) please use the following link, which takes you to the Oxford Owl Reading Tree website. I have set our class up with a class account (see login details below). When on the site click on the pink 'My Class Login' button which will then ask for the following details.

Username: ash.class2020

Password: readingathome

For continuity, you may want to record this in your child's yellow reading records as normal, but you don't have to! Please also remember to read to your child at home like you normally would, as well as hearing them read. Thank you.

For some ideas on how to keep fit and active click on the link. Try to do something every day!

I have also set all parents and children up with a Real PE account. On here you will have access to hundreds of age related different physical activities that you can do at home involving adventures, stories, games, songs and different skills. Please click on the link which will take you to the log in page. The log in details are below. Have fun!

Your child took the following sheets home for them to use to help them with their reading and writing. If you have misplaced these they are below.

For a range of different maths, reading, writing and practical activities to complete with your child, please use the following link.

The following documents contain 2 weeks worth of reading and writing activities for your child to have a go at. This follows the Talk for Writing approach, an approach which we follow in school. Enjoy!

Weeks 1 and 2: Sidney Spider - A Tale of Friendship

Weeks 3 and 4: Pippety Skycap - A Tale of Mischief

BBC Bitesize have added some really useful daily lessons online, which can be found by clicking here. If you decide to have a go at the lessons that would be great! Remember to let me know how you get on if you do!

The phonics programme which we use in school (Letters and Sounds), and your child is familiar with, are uploading phonics lessons to youtube at 10:30 each weekday morning. It would be great if your child could participate in these lessons each day to maintain their super phonics.

To access these lessons, and for more information please click here.
