Friday 8th May 2020 was planned to be a national holiday to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of V.E Day.

Monday: Research using Espresso to find out more about V.E Day. Try to write your research under sub-headings to organise your work clearly. You could also add illustrations, photos, recipes etc.

What does V.E stand for?

What was special about this day?
How did people celebrate?

Did this mean that WW2 was over?

Tuesday: Write a diary entry for someone who was at a V.E Day street party. Perhaps they were a returning soldier, nurse, a child or parent. It is up to you.

Try to express their feelings, what they saw, how they celebrated and their wishes for the future.

Wednesday: Spelling practice. Spelling Shed Challenge words 3 and resources (attached last week)

Thursday: Using your research from Monday make a mini book or powerpoint presentation all about V.E Day. Complete a grammar activity from your Rising Stars book or Espresso.

Friday: Create a colourful invitation for your own street party. What events and games will you hold? What will be on the menu? Will there be any competitions and prizes?
