Sycamore

We had a great time learning how to skateboard! Sycamore class all did so well and all showed perseverance and teamworking skills by helping each other along. Another great day in year 4!

We are very fortunate this term to have Mr Randall come in and teach us samba! Sycamore class have loved trying all of the different instruments and learning how to keep pace.

Science: make it rain experiment

As part of our learning on states of matter this half term, we conducted an experiment to see if we could make it rain in a jar. Our method involved pouring hot water into a jar and putting a plate on top, ensuring no air could escape. We then waiting for 4 minutes before putting cold ice cubes onto the plate. We found out that the cold plate causes the moisture in the warm air, which is inside the jar to condense and form water droplets. This is the same thing that happens in the atmosphere. Warm, moist air rises and meets colder air high in the atmosphere. The water vapor condenses and forms precipitation that falls to the ground. Amazing!

Science: States of Matter exploration

We had a great science lesson, discussing whether different materials were solids, liquids or gases!
