As we reach the end of a challenging week, we would like to say a sincere thank you to our parents and carers for your patience, flexibility, and support during the flooding. Your calm and cooperation have made a real difference.
We would also like to thank, and apologise to, local residents for the additional pressure that school traffic and altered routines have placed on the area. We are very grateful for your understanding during what has been a difficult time for the whole community.
It has been lovely to hear that our regular updates have also been helpful to the wider community, and we are hopeful that water levels will continue to drop so that disruption does not need to continue far into next week.
Please continue to take care when travelling and, if these arrangements do need to continue, remember to park considerately.
Thank you again to everyone for pulling together.
Good news the flooding has now gone down and access to school is much improved. There is a small puddle as you exit West End onto the A350, but the rest of the route is clear. Please drive slowly in the car park, as there are loose stones and chippings left behind by the receding water. Thank you again for your patience over the past few days, and please continue to take care when travelling.
No words needed...

Flooding Update – Today Rain overnight was lighter than predicted, but the A350 remains slightly flooded and may slow as traffic increases. Water levels in West End have risen again; we do not advise driving through unless your vehicle is suitable for deep water. School will run as it has over the last few days: a soft opening with all gates open. Where safe, staff will help shuttle children from the road. We will operate a soft closure from 2:30pm. Scamps and Treehouse are open as normal, but there is no Celebration Assembly and no Scampies this morning. Thank you for your continued support; please take care when travelling.
We will be operating a soft closure from 2:30 pm, with all gates open from this time. There will be no clubs this afternoon, including Kev's Football. Treehouse will operate as normal this evening.
At times over the last two days we have worried that we have been overly cautious. A stuck Parcel Force van has reassured us that we've made the right choices.
Flooding Update – This Morning We will be operating the same arrangements as yesterday. Water levels in West End remain high. Although it is currently lower outside school, there are still flooded sections on the A350 where water has come across the fields. This will affect traffic. The entrance into West End is still too deep to pass safely. Access is currently best via the Trailway or from the Spetisbury side of the A350. All gates will be open and manned as best as possible. Children may be dropped off if a member of staff is present on the road and it is safe to do so. Treehouse and Scamps remain open today, as yesterday. Thank you for your patience; please take care when travelling.
Flooding Update – Soft Closure Although water levels on the A350/High Street have dropped slightly, flooding in West End remains the same due to water continuing to run under the bridge from the streams. We will therefore operate a soft closure this afternoon. Children can be collected from 2:30pm; all gates will be open. Please collect and leave the site promptly to help ease congestion. We recommend walking via the Trailway from Charlton Marshall or Spetisbury. Approaching from Spetisbury via the High Street may be easier for gate access. The junction into West End still has deep water; we are aware of vehicles currently awaiting recovery after driving through last night. There will be no after-school clubs tonight. Treehouse Club is scheduled, but we would appreciate children being collected as soon as possible. We aim to close the site by 5:00pm. Thank you for your understanding and support; please take care when travelling.
Flooding Update West End and the High Street outside school are currently badly flooded. School is open today, but please do not attempt to drive through floodwater to access the car park, as vehicles are likely to get stuck. We strongly recommend parking in Charlton Marshall or Spetisbury and walking via the Trailway. Where possible, please car share or pass your child safely to a known parent to walk the final part of the journey, to avoid blocking already difficult roads. The Reception playground is slightly flooded; all gates will be open, but please take care in the churchyard due to the building work. Wellies advised. Registers will remain open and no late marks will be given. After-school clubs may be cancelled; we will update later today. Please also be aware that Blandford Town Centre is severely flooded. Take care when travelling.
Our phone lines and Internet are back up. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Good morning, we have an issue with our Internet and as a result our phone lines are also down. If you need to report an absence or any other immediate reason please use the office email and we will reply when the connection is back. We are hopeful that it will return at some point this morning.
A quick reminder for parents of children starting school for the first time in September 2026: the deadline to apply is 16th January. We are really pleased with the number of applications we've already received, which is lovely to see, but we don't want anyone missing out simply because the date slipped past unnoticed. Life has a habit of doing that. If your child is due to start school and you haven't applied yet, now is the moment to tick it off the list and enjoy the satisfying feeling of being organised. The link is here: https://www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/w/starting-school-for-the-first-time If you have any questions or would like to chat about starting school, we're always happy to help
Congratulations!
This afternoon, our Wellbeing Champions spent time in Year 2 sharing a story, and the children were completely absorbed. They visit classes across the week to offer support, kindness and a calm moment in the day and their story sessions are fast becoming a favourite. Well done to our champions for the care they show, and to Year 2 for being such brilliant listeners! #WellbeingChampions #Year2Magic #Storytime
What an incredible day for our Year 4 children, who travelled on Wednesday to the stunning Salisbury Cathedral to take part in the iSingPOP celebration! From the excitement of arriving, to standing beneath the towering spire and finally filling the nave with joyful singing it was a day full of music, faith and friendship. Our pupils sang their hearts out, joining with other schools across our trust. Their confidence, teamwork and enthusiasm made us so proud. A huge thank you to the iSingPOP team, Salisbury Cathedral staff, DSAT and our brilliant parent helpers for making the experience so special. #iSingPOP #DSAT #SalisburyCathedral #Year4 #FaithInAction #LetYourLightShine
