Following our most recent Ofsted inspection in February 2023, we are delighted that Spetisbury Church of England Primary School continues to be judged a Good school.

The report recognises the warmth, purpose and ambition that define our school community—confirming what we already know: Spetisbury is a place where children flourish.

“Leaders are respected role models for pupils. They enable, along with all other members of staff, an atmosphere of calmness and warmth to pervade through the school.”

“Pupil leaders speak with heartfelt sincerity about their school… ‘Spetisbury is a school I love to tell my friends about.’”

“Pupils behave well in class and in the playground… There is a genuine sense of camaraderie as they interact with each other and adults.”

“Mathematics is a strength of the school… Pupils articulate their thinking with confidence and accuracy.”

“Reading is at the heart of the curriculum. Children listen to quality texts and speak about them with enthusiasm.”

“Character development is strong, and pupils show maturity, empathy and a deep understanding of diversity and difference.”

“There is a strong safeguarding culture… staff are well trained, alert, and act promptly when needed.”

📚 Areas for Development

The report also recognised our work to strengthen the curriculum in foundation subjects and noted that, while improvements are already in place, the sequencing and assessment of some subjects are still embedding. We are already addressing this through staff training, curriculum planning, and ongoing review.

🛡️ Safeguarding

Safeguarding at Spetisbury was judged to be effective, with strong systems in place and a culture where children feel safe, supported and listened to.
