🌳 Our Vision & Values
At Spetisbury Church of England Primary School, we believe in every child’s potential to grow, flourish and succeed.
Rooted in our Christian ethos, our vision shapes everything we do—from how we teach, to how we relate, to the environment we create. It underpins learning, behaviour and relationships across our whole school community.
We want our pupils to leave us not just well-educated, but happy, confident and grounded—ready for the world, and anchored in a sense of who they are.
Our school is filled with symbols of growth: trees on our celebration wall, in our entrance, on our logo and all around our learning environment. These represent our collective vision:

This isn’t just a tagline—it’s a commitment to nurturing the whole child: mind, body and spirit.
📖 A Deeply Rooted Vision
Our Christian vision draws inspiration from Psalm 1, which offers timeless guidance for a faithful life. It begins with an image that resonates deeply with our school community:
"They are like trees planted by streams of water,
that bear fruit at the right time,
and whose leaves do not dry up.
They succeed in everything they do."

This vision is not about quick wins—it’s about growing well, at the right time, in the right way. It reminds us that success looks different for each child, but with the right support, everyone can thrive.
💡 Our Values
To help us live out our vision each day, we focus on six core values. These values guide our learning, shape our behaviour, and support the way we treat one another.
They are more than words on a wall—they are woven into our assemblies, our curriculum, and our conversations. Each week, we explore one of these values as a whole school, using stories, reflection and real-life examples to help children understand what it looks like in action.
Our values are:
Perseverance:
We continue to achieve or to try despite challenge or difficulty.
'Happy is the person who remains faithful under trials.' James 1:12
Honesty:
We know that this is more than just telling the truth - this should be a given. We are honest with ourselves and always commit to giving our very best.

Teamwork:
Although we are individuals striving to be our very best, we know that we are part of a bigger team and through cooperation we can achieve much more as one school.

Reflect:
We all play our part to reflect upon, challenge and improve the way we lead our lives and how we use our talents.

Respect:
We care for ourselves, each other, the environment and our community.

Compassion: We know that compassion is greater than sympathy or empathy and we therefore we are motivated to help and to show love.

We recognise and celebrate these values regularly—through collective worship, praise assemblies, peer and staff nominations, and in the small moments that matter. As children grow through the school, they develop a deep understanding of how these values help them make good choices, form strong relationships, and prepare for life beyond Spetisbury—wherever their journey takes them.
